Sentenced to 20-years, Louis Miller now wants shock probation after serving six months. As WAVE 3's David McArthur reports, the public overwhelmingly says no. After decades waiting for justice, Mike Turner is fighting to keep justice. And about 140 letters echo his concern. Turner wants to keep the convicted pedophile priest behind bars. "There's all of us out here that don't want to ever see him get out. He needs to stay in. For not only what he has done, but what he could do. No health issues -- no anything. He needs to stay behind bars." Louis Miller got the maximum sentence of 20 years for abusing 21 children over four decades in Louisville, and an additional 10 years from Oldham County for eight more victims. All of the letters will eventually cross the desk of Jude Anne O'Malley Shake, who will decide whether or not Miller gets shock probation. Even one of Miller's former colleagues, Father Joseph Fowler wrote a letter opposing Miller's release, saying that granting shock probation would "mock any sense of justice." Before any decision from the judge, the window to write letters regarding Miller's possible shock probation continues another month. The Louisville Catholic Archdiocese is expected to get high marks for following national sex abuse guidelines. More details are expected Tuesday when the U.S. Catholic Church issues a report card on diocese compliance nationwide.
